About the Fan Club

The Bobby Sherman Fan Club began at Bobby's house in the Disneyland section of his yard in 1986. I had gone to Los Angeles for a visit, as I do most every year, and spent time talking to him about the Main Street Disneyland he had hand-built for his sons. As we snapped pictures and the music from the speakers in the model played in the background, I asked him if he had a current fan club. Much to my delight, he said "No." So I volunteered to take on the responsibility. He laughed! Then he said, "I hereby appoint you Intergalactic Fan Club President." I said I was serious and he replied he knew.

Since then I have taken the job very seriously and have sort of been a Shreveport PR office and never passing on an opportunity to mention Bobby and the wonderful job he does as a volunteer and a role model for a generation of teenagers. I often called radio and television shows to have them mention Bobby on his birthday or to plug an appearance he was about to make.

In 1996, when Still Remembering You, Bobby's autobiography, was released, the resurgence of Bobby's popularity soared. Book signings made by Bobby drew many more fans than expected....thus the broadening of the Official Bobby Sherman Fan Club's appeal and membership. The excitement over the book, last summer's concert schedule and the Internet have provided an opportunity for all of us not only to relive those teen age years in the 1970s, but to establish a friendship with Bobby fans from all over the world.

Today, our membership is over 800 and our members come from five countries.
